In 1982 Dr. Cardwell completed his residency in Peoria. Dr. Cardwell opened his practice in Normal on the campus of BroMenn Regional Medical Center in December, 2007.
The mission of the practice is to deliver high quality care and services to pregnant women of the Bloomington-Normal area in a professional manner and in a style understandable by our patients.
The practice is focused on the care of the pregnant woman. Dr. Cardwell is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist and maternal fetal medicine specialist in solo practice. The pregnant patient can have the security and comfort of seeing one physician for her entire pregnancy care. Since Dr. Cardwell is also a maternal fetal medicine specialist or perinatologist, he is competent in handling high-risk pregnancies and is the only high-risk pregnancy specialist in the Bloomington-Normal, Illinois, region.
